SL Vs Ban: Bangladesh team announced for Sri Lanka ODI series, player who scored 35 runs in 8 matches
Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh ODI 2025: Bangladesh announced its team for the three ODI series against Sri Lanka. This is Bangladesh’s first ODI series after the Champions Trophy and the team has seen five changes. Litton Das has returned to the team, while Mahmudullah has retired from International Cricket and Mushfiqur Rahim has retired from ODIs. The two took this decision after being out of Bangladesh from the Champions Trophy.
Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Selector Ghazi Ashraf Hussain said that Litton Kau has been given the opportunity because he has recently been made the captain of Bangladesh’s T20 team. Let us know that Litton had scored just 36 runs in 8 matches till the West Indies tour from New Zealand tour in December 2023. After which Litton was shown the way out and he was not even part of the Champions Trophy.
Ashraf Hussain said, “Linton Das was going through a bad phase, but the time is the biggest ointment. He is the captain of the T20 International Team, so we can consider him till the next T20 World Cup. If someone has to return in form, it is best to spend a long time on the field. We think we can keep our form in T20 with Litan ODIs.”
Apart from this, the selectors have also invited Mohammad Naeem, Shamim Hussain and Hasan Mahmood to the return team. Naeem played his last ODI in September 2023, while Tanveer got a chance in the ODI team for the first time. He has so far played only T20 International matches for Bangladesh.
Three ODIs between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be played on 2, 5 and 8 July. The first two ODIs will be played at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo and the third and last match will be played at Pallekele.
