Smriti Mandhana, a century innings against England, created a history that no female player from India has ever done
Smriti Mandhana all-format Centurion Record: In the first T20 match against England, India’s opener batsman did something that no Indian women player could do till now. The left -arm star batsman not only played a strong innings, but also made a special place in the record book. Taking care of the captain, he surprised everyone with his innings. Now his name has come in the list of few veteran players of the world.
Smriti Mandhana’s bat thundered in the first T20I match between India and England women’s team. Mandhana, who landed as the captain of the team, scored 112 runs off only 62 balls, including 15 fours and 3 sixes. He completed a century in 51 balls and achieved this feat by hitting Lauren Bell on the fourth ball of the 16th over.
This is the biggest score ever made by an Indian player in the women’s T20I. Let me tell you that Smriti became the second Indian to score a century in Mahila T20 International. Prior to that, this feat was done only by Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored 103 runs against New Zealand in 2018.

During this innings, Mandhana shared a 77 -run partnership for the first wicket with Shafali Verma (22 balls, 20 runs), then Harleen Deol (23 balls, 43 runs) added 94 runs for the second wicket. With this special century, Smriti also achieved the distinction of becoming the fifth world of the world and India’s first female player to score a century in all three formats. Prior to them, this feat has been done by Heather Knight, Tammy Buomont, Laura Wulwart and Beth Muni.
