Sonam Raghuvanshi
Sonam, the main accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, has spent a month in jail. Sonam, along with her lover Raj, planned to kill her husband Raja. After this, he was killed by giving betel nut during a honeymoon in Meghalaya. Now a media report claimed that Sonam has spent a month in jail, but does not talk to anyone. No member of his family has come to meet him, while Sonam’s family can meet him according to the jail rules.
The NDTV report quoted sources as saying that Sonam neither talks to any fellow prisoner nor his family has come to meet him. Sonam is also being monitored with CCTV cameras. He is lodged in Shillong Jail. There is another female prisoner in this jail, who is lodged on the charge of murder. There are a total of 496 prisoners in jail, including 20 women. The report further states that Sonam has not expressed any regret over her actions.
Don’t talk about her crime
The report said that Sonam has coordinated with the atmosphere of the jail and fell well with the fellow female prisoners. However, she does not talk to her fellow prisoners or jail administration about her crime and personal life. Sonam is allegedly staying near the jail warden’s office and shares a room with two under consideration female prisoners. According to NDTV report, the murder accused follows the jail manual and wakes up at the right time every morning. He has been given the facility to watch TV daily. Although he has not been assigned any specific work inside the jail, sources said that he would be taught the work related to sewing.
Allegations of the family of the king
The family of King Raghuvanshi has claimed that his family has spoken four times since Sonam went to jail. Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi accused Sonam’s brother Govind of making false pretense of sympathy while in touch with his sister. According to Amar Ujala’s report, Vipin alleged that Govind was showing sympathy to his family, while he and his parents were helping Sonam.
Brother Govind is against Sonam
Vipin claimed, “I think Sonam and Govind have been talking for the last four weeks. The whole family is involved in it. He has appointed a lawyer and is actively trying for bail.” Govind has also spoken against Sonam many times before and has supported the demand for justice for the Raja’s family. Govind had earlier said, “If she is found guilty, she should be sentenced to death.”
