Bollywood’s famous playback singer Sonu Nigam has been in controversy in the past few days. On 25 April, Sonu Nigam reprimanded a fan during the Bengaluru concert and said that ‘this is the reason, what happened in Pahalgam … that’s what you are doing, what you have just done. Actually, Fan was making noise to sing from Sonu Nigam repeatedly in Kannada. But Sonu Nigam got caught in trouble by referring to the Pahalgam attack. After this, a Pro-Kannada Organization lodged a police complaint against Sonu Nigam.

After the dispute escalated, Sonu Nigam also apologized to his Kannada fans. But still the Kannada film industry has taken a tough decision against Sonu Nigam. The song sung by Sonu Nigam has been removed from the upcoming Kannada film ‘Kudalli Kalyoodo’.

The film’s makers issued a statement saying, “There is no doubt that Sonu Nigam is a good singer.” But, we are very angry with the way he talked about Kannada in a concert recently. We cannot tolerate insult to Kannada by Sonu Nigam, so we have removed the song.

Sonu Nigam sang the song ‘Mansu Hadde’ by Sonu Nigam for ‘Kudalli Kalyoodo’ directed by Ramanarayan. The song was composed by Manomurthy and wrote by Yograj Bhatt. The makers have now decided to record this song Kannada singer Chetan.

Sonu Nigam had apologized

The singer shared a post and apologized to the entire controversy and tried to put a stop to it. He had said, Sorry Karnataka, my love for you is bigger than my ego. I will always love you. I have always given love to every state, every language, culture and people. But he is not a youth who can bear insults. He is 51 years old, and has the right to get angry.
