South Indian rivals Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC set for exciting clash
Kochi, 7 November (HS). South Indian rivals Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC are set for a thrilling clash in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 this evening. Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC have lost their previous matches to Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant respectively and are placed 10th and 11th on the points table. Therefore, this match will be an opportunity for both the teams to correct their mistakes and get their respective campaigns back on track.
The Blasters have scored in each of their last 14 ISL matches. He has scored at least twice in eight of those matches. The Blasters have not kept a clean sheet in their last 18 ISL matches. This is the joint second longest streak in the league.
The 4-0 win over Mohammedan Sporting in their last away match will give Hyderabad FC the confidence to put in a strong performance in unfamiliar conditions, which will come in handy against the Blasters.
Hyderabad FC have conceded at least one goal in seven of their last nine away matches and have lost all of those matches. So, they will have to maintain defensive discipline to score three points.
According to Swedish head coach Mikael Stehre of Kerala Blasters FC, his team needs to be more aware and stick to their plans till the final whistle.
He said, “We should have stayed in the match against Mumbai City FC. We have to learn from the defining moments. Obviously we have to protect ourselves from fouls, yellows and red cards.”
Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto believes that there is a tough competition going on in the points table at the moment and hence the team should be optimistic about climbing up the table with some decent results.
He said, “Our aim is to play our best football in every match. To go up the points table, if you can’t win, you have to at least draw.”
These two teams have met 11 times in the ISL, with Kerala Blasters FC and Hyderabad FC winning six and four matches respectively. A match is being drawn.
