South actor Vijay Devarakonda reached the ED’s office in Bashirbagh, Hyderabad at 11 am on Wednesday morning. The actor was issued summons by the investigating agency for the promotion of the online betting app, after which the actor reached the regional office of the Central Investigation Agency after the summons issued in the case on Wednesday. The 36 -year -old actor, who was recently seen in the jail drama film ‘Kingdom’ with Bhagyashree Borsce, appeared before the central agency officials for questioning in his regional office.
Prakash Raj was also questioned
In connection with the case, actor Prakash Raj appeared before the ED on 30 July. During this, he was questioned in 2016 for the advertisement of an online betting app. Apart from Raj, the ED also issued summons to actresses Laxmi Manchu, Vijay Devarakonda and Rana Daggubati for questioning in the case. Under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Actor (PMLA), the agency will record the statements of actors.
How did the case start?
All this started when Phanindra Sharma, a businessman from Miyapur, filed an initial complaint in the case. He claimed that many well-known actors and social media influencers are attracting users to these betting apps. He claimed that these apps are causing a lot of damage to the middle class and lower-middle class families.
