First Test at Lord’s: played England vs. Australia in 1884 and then it was England’s third Test ground (first two: Oval and Old Trafford).
1976: First women’s match played (England-Australia ODI).
1987: A special attraction of celebration was between MCC and Rest of the World XI on the occasion of completion of 200 years of MCC. Sunil Gavaskar scored 188 in it.
1999: New Media Center starts at Nursery End. Now this is a beautiful identity of this stadium.
First score of 300: This record was scored by Graham Gooch against India in 1990 and 333 runs, even today, Lord’s scores are the top scores. Gooch scored 123 runs in the second innings of the Test.
Two World Cup wins in two years: England won two World Cups here within two years- 2017 Women’s World Cup and Men’s World Cup in 2019.
In 2021, the Kovid-19 vaccination center was opened at Lord’s.
WTC 2025 final: These finals were played here between Australia and South Africa.
