Sri Lanka’s embarrassing performance in T20I against Bangladesh, 9 batsmen out on single digit; Series equal
Sl vs ban 2nd t20i: In the second match of the three -match T20 series played at Dambula, Bangladesh performed tremendously and won a big win by a margin of 83 runs. Playing first in the match, Bangladesh performed well and scored 177/7 in 20 overs, in response to which the Sri Lankan team proved to be a perfect laggard and collapsed after scoring just 94 runs in 15.2 overs. With the victory of Bangladesh, the series is now equal to 1-1 and the winner will be decided by a decisive match.
Captain Litton Das and Shamim Hosain did wonders in batting
Bangladesh started poorly while batting first after losing the toss and in the first over, opener Parvez Hosain was dismissed without opening an account. The second opener Tanjid Hasan also could not show anything special and scored 5 runs. From here, captain Litton Das and Tauheed Hridayy carried forward a half -century partnership for the third wicket and took the score to 76. Tauheed scored 31 runs in 25 balls. However, Mehdi Hasan Miraj could not do anything special and kept on scoring 1 run. Litton completed his half -century and scored 76 runs in 50 balls before being dismissed. In the last overs, Shamim Hosain helped Bangladesh reach a good score by scoring 48 runs in 27 balls. Binura Fernando took the maximum three wickets for Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan batsmen showed flop shows
Sri Lanka’s start was not special, following the target and lost 4 wickets in the powerplay itself. Opener Kusal Mendis was dismissed for 8 runs. Kusal Perera could not even open his account. Captain Charith Asanka was also able to contribute only 5 runs. Pathum Nisanka contributed 32 runs in 29 balls. Dasun Shanaka scored 20 runs amid falling wickets. Apart from these two, no other batsman could reach the score of double digit. From Bangladesh, Rishad Hosain took the most three wickets.
