The funeral was performed in the Filmnagar area of Jubilee Hills. Earlier, a video of Chiranjeevi went viral online in which he was seen getting emotional offering a wreath to the legendary actor. Megastar also spent time with the family and friends of the late actor and paid tribute to Rao’s body. Kota Srinivas Rao died due to alleged age health problems. For the past few days, he was not feeling well and breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad.

Rao, a veteran of Telugu cinema, acted in more than 750 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. He was known for his versatility, often played complex characters, from comic villains to rigorous politicians and affectionate elders. Apart from his film career, he also served as a BJP MLA from Vijayawada East constituency between 1994 and 2004. In 2015, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of the country.
