According to ANI report, Starlink’s satellite internet service can begin in the next two months. However, the government has not yet allotted the spectrum license to any company. The Department of Telecommunications and Telecom Regulators may soon allocate spectrum licenses to satellite service providers. Recently, the telecom regulator had said that service providers would be allotted spectrum license for satellite service in an administrative manner. Spectrum will not be auctioned like mobile services.
How much will the plan be?
If sources are to be believed, the satellite service of Starlink in India may have to spend Rs 3,000 every month. The device can be priced at Rs 33,000 for Starlink Satellite Service. That is, the user taking satellite service will have to spend Rs 36,000 first. After this, it will cost Rs 3,000 every month. According to the report, Starlink will not take the first month’s rent users. The company will offer a complimentary plan for the first month under the launch strategy.
Starlink devices in India’s neighboring countries Bhutan and Bangladesh are also priced at Rs 33,000. The company can take almost the same charge for its service in the Indian peninsula. Starlink’s satellite internet service will benefit for people living in areas where there is no better mobile network facility. However, telecom companies say that 4G/5G service has been delivered to more than 95 percent of the areas of India.
The launch of satellite internet service will benefit people living in the hilly areas. Apart from this, users can also take calling and internet service by taking advantage of direct-to-cell technology at the time of emergency.
