Stars Share Childhood Memories on Children’s Day: ‘Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji!
Today, on November 14, Children’s Day is being celebrated across the country. As we all know, Children’s Day is observed on the birthday of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. On this special occasion, we’re taking a look at some fun and heartwarming childhood stories from TV and film stars, their quirky habits, and their desire to keep their inner child alive.
The Joy of Stealing Raw Mangoes – Shubhangi Atre
Shubhangi Atre, known for her role in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, shared some playful memories from her childhood. She said, “I used to enjoy scaring people. I would hide behind doors and shout ‘Bho!’ to frighten someone. I still do this with my daughter Aashi or with my parents. Another fun thing I loved as a child was climbing trees to steal fruits. Even now, I climb trees on my farm to pick tangy raw mangoes. It feels like an adventure, and I love doing it secretly. As a child, we used to sneak into my grandfather’s orchard to steal mangoes, and the watchman would chase us. I believe it’s important to keep the child within us alive.”
There’s a Child Inside Every Person – Tushar Kapoor
Tushar Kapoor believes that every adult still has a child inside them. He said, “I think everyone has a child within them, and they express their playful side whenever they get the chance. I’m very disciplined when it comes to my diet and workouts, but I can never outgrow my love for pizza and ice cream. There’s something special about sneaking a slice of pizza or ice cream when no one’s watching—it feels just like childhood.”
I Still Watch Cartoons – Divyanka Tripathi
Divyanka Tripathi, known for The Magic of Shri, shared a cute story about how she still loves cartoons. She said, “I believe there’s still a child in me who loves watching cartoons. My husband Vivek (Dahiya) and I hadn’t watched a film in a long time, but recently I took him to watch an animated film called The Wild Robot. We had so much fun! My inner child loves cartoons and animation films, and now, I’m passing that love on to Vivek too.”
I’m Still Very Childlike – Sanjay Mishra
Sanjay Mishra, known for his roles in films like Aankhon Dekhi and Dum Laga Ke Haisha, humorously shared that he still has a lot of childlike qualities. “A few days ago, I was caught stealing brinjal in a small village near Shirdi. I have a habit of doing little things like stealing a lemon or a brinjal and hiding it in my hand. It gives me this strange sense of achievement. Whenever I’m in Delhi and a street vendor is around, I can’t help but sneakily grab something. I believe if we lose the child within us, life would lose its meaning. As an artist, it’s important to keep the curiosity of a child alive so that we can continue bringing life to our roles.”
I Still Love Watching Cartoons – Pearl V Puri
Actor Pearl V Puri, known for Naagin 3 and Phir Bhi Na Maane… Badtameez Dil shared his undying love for cartoons. He said, “Watching cartoons was an integral part of my childhood, and I still enjoy it. I love watching classics like Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Pokemon, Popeye, and Johnny Bravo. I even collect cards of my favorite cartoon characters and keep them as my desktop wallpaper.”
Here’s Where I Reveal My Inner Child – Shreyas Talpade
Shreyas Talpade, known for his roles in films like Iqbal and Apna Sapna Money Money, revealed that he still expresses his inner child in playful ways. “I don’t think we can survive without letting our inner child out. When I watch films, sometimes I get so excited that my wife has to remind me to close my mouth! I still watch movies with the wonder and excitement of a child. Another thing I love doing is making random gibberish noises in the bathroom while I’m showering. I can’t do that out in the open, so the bathroom is my special place to let my inner child out. We often bring out our playful side while dubbing as well. You can call it my childishness!”
These childhood stories from our favorite stars remind us that no matter how old we get, the inner child never really fades away. Their playfulness, innocence, and joy teach us the importance of living life with a light heart. Keeping our inner child alive not only helps us stay happy but also brings freshness and enthusiasm to our work and creativity.
On this Children’s Day, let’s remember to embrace the joy, mischief, and energy of childhood in our everyday lives, making our lives brighter, more colorful, and full of happiness.
