Due to starvation in Gaza, the situation is getting worse to worse.

Gaza: In Gaza, starvation has now taken a formidable form. Due to the blockade of Israeli, there has been a huge shortage of food and drink, due to which many children lost their lives in the last 3 weeks. The situation in Gaza City’s Patients Friends Hospital is so bad that doctors are not able to give necessary medicines and nutritious food to save the children. In the last week, 5 young children died due to starvation. These children were not already suffering from any disease, yet their condition deteriorated so much that they could not escape.

‘Children do not even cry due to weakness’

The hospital’s nutritionist Dr. Rana Soboh said, ‘Children have become so weak that they do not cry nor move. Earlier some children used to be cured by treatment, but now the situation is worse. This is a disaster. Children are dying of hunger in front of the world. Nothing can be worse than this. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 48 people died of starvation in the last three weeks, including 20 children and 28 adults. The UN has also said that so far 21 children have died of starvation.

‘The girl broke down due to lack of medicines’

The UN’s World Food Program says that about one lakh women and children are immediate treatment, but due to lack of medicines and food, it is not possible. Every day 200 to 300 children are coming to the hospital for treatment. Dr. Rana said that the employees are also hungry and 2 nurses had to drip. Out of 5 children who died last week, 4 died due to stomach disturbances, as nutritious food required for them was not available. There was a huge shortage of potassium in the body of the fifth baby girl, Sever, who was four and a half years old. In the absence of medicines, he too passed away in the ICU after three days.

The condition of 2 -year -old Yajan Abu Full, who lives in the Refugee Camp, is also worse. Her mother Naima said that Yajan’s body has become so weak that her bones are clearly visible. The family does not have food, and 2 brinjals purchased for $ 9 have to be boiled in water and running for several days. Yajan’s father Mahmood said, ‘Doctors say food, but I say, there is no food. Our child is slowly slipping from our hands. Dr. Mohammad Abu Selmia, director of Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, said that on Thursday, the corpses of two adults came, which had symptoms of starvation.

‘… then the situation will be even more terrible’

Israeli completely stopped food, medicines and fuel supply in Gaza since March, after which the situation worsened. Some relief was given in May, but according to the UN, 500-600 trucks are needed daily, while only 69 trucks are coming. Israel says Hamas aid is robbing the material, but UN and aid organizations deny it. He says that if help comes openly, the looting can stop. Dr. John Kahler, who is the co-founder of Medglobal, warned, ‘The series of deaths from starvation in Gaza has begun. If this does not stop, then the situation will be more terrible. (AP)
