Stock Market Opening: The Indian stock market started with a decline today and the stock market opened in red. With the opening of the market, India Volatility India i.e. India VIX has reached a 20-month high. It has come close to the level of September 2022. Media, metal, PSU bank, consumer durables and oil and gas stocks are seeing a rise. There is a decline in FMCG, IT, realty and healthcare index sectors.

How was the opening of the stock market?

BSE Sensex opened at the level of 73,842 with a fall of 162.98 points or 0.22 percent. NSE's Nifty opened at the level of 22,404 with a decline of 97.45 points or 0.43 percent.

Market Capitalization of BSE

The market capitalization of BSE has come to Rs 412.09 lakh crore and 3275 shares are being traded in it. Out of these, 1413 shares are on the rise and 1682 shares are seeing a decline. 180 shares are being traded without any change. Upper circuit is imposed on 143 shares while 81 shares are on lower circuit.

What is the condition of Sensex shares?

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 11 are trading on the rise while 19 stocks are in decline. JSW Steel remains the top gainer with a gain of 2.28 per cent and Power Grid is up 1.44 per cent. Tata Steel is up 1.40 percent and Asian Paints is up 1.18 percent. NTPC is trading at a strength of 0.90 percent. Among the top Sensex losers, Nestle is down 1.87 percent and M&M is down 1.10 percent. There is a weakness of 0.91 percent in Infosys and 0.90 percent in Axis Bank. TCS is down by 0.84 percent.

Condition of Nifty shares

Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 27 are in decline and 22 are in gain. A stock is trading with no change. 2453 shares are being traded on NSE and a decline is seen in 1340 shares. 988 shares are seeing a rise and 125 shares are trading without any change. Upper circuit is imposed on 103 shares and upper circuit is imposed on 55 shares.
