New Delhi. Along with Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, votes are being cast today for by-elections in 15 assembly constituencies of 5 states and Nanded Lok Sabha seat. The result will come on 23rd November.

There were clashes with police in Karhal, Meerapur, Kakrauli, Sisamau seat, Muzaffarpur of UP. SP and BJP complained to the Election Commission about not following the rules during voting. A Dalit girl was murdered during voting in Karhal. The father alleged that the young man killed his daughter for refusing to vote for SP. The Election Commission has suspended 7 policemen on the complaint of SP. It is alleged that after checking the voter ID of the voters, they did not allow them to enter the booth. 2 policemen were suspended in Kanpur, 3 in Moradabad and 2 in Muzaffarnagar. SP candidate from Sisamau seat of Kanpur, Naseem Solanki said that the administration is scaring people in Muslim dominated areas. Police and RAF made people run in Chamanganj area. SP MLA Amitabh Vajpayee has been put under house arrest in Kanpur. Police is deployed outside his house.

7 police personnel including two SIs suspended on SP’s complaint

The Election Commission has suspended with immediate effect two police officers, SI Arun Kumar Singh and SI Rakesh Kumar Nadar, who were checking the identity cards of voters going to vote. 2 policemen in Moradabad and 3 in Muzaffarnagar have been suspended. Samajwadi Party on its official social media account had complained about some communities being prevented from voting during the UP by-elections. This action has been taken taking cognizance of these complaints. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has given strict instructions to CEO UP and all District Election Officers, Returning Officers to ensure the voting process in a fair and smooth manner. Take immediate cognizance of all complaints and take prompt action. Along with this, inform about the action taken by tagging the complainant also through social media. The Commission has clearly said that no eligible voter should be stopped from voting. Any kind of biased attitude will not be tolerated during voting. Upon receiving the complaint, immediate investigation will be conducted. If anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken. Strict instructions will also be given to the police and general observers deployed in all the 9 election districts.

BJP alleged, fake voting is taking place in Muzaffarnagar-

In UP, has written a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of the state alleging that votes are being cast on fake identity cards in Meerapur assembly constituency of Muzaffarnagar district. People coming from outside have been accommodated in mosques, madrassas and lodges of the district. The party has also alleged that veiled women are being allowed to vote without checking their identity and taking advantage of this, men are coming to vote wearing burqa.

Former minister left Akali Dal amid voting in Punjab-

Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former cabinet minister Anil Joshi has resigned from the primary membership of the party and all posts. In his resignation, Joshi has raised serious questions on the current policies and working style of the party.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the officers who commit irregularities will lose their jobs.

Akhilesh Yadav discussed with journalists during the elections, he said that the senses of the Election Commission are not working. The Commission is neither visible nor heard. Therefore, despite so many complaints, the Commission is not taking any action. BJP is putting pressure on the entire administration due to fear of defeat. Stones pelted at police during voting in Muzaffarnagar-

A mob pelted stones at the police during voting in Mirapur Kakrauli in Muzaffarpur district of UP. Here SP has accused the administration of working for the BJP candidate. Also accused of stopping SP supporters from voting.

Candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa also reached the spot.

AAP candidate from Dera Baba Nanak Gurdeep Singh Randhawa also reached the spot. MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and AAP candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa accused each other face to face. Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa reached Dera Baba Nanak. There was a clash between Congress and AAP workers here. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has alleged that gangsters were hiding in a house near Dera Pathan polling booth. When Congress supporters protested against this, they were beaten up by AAP supporters. Amidst this incident, some people were also seen running away from the house. Randhawa alleges that the Punjab government is committing hooliganism and arbitrariness.

Slow start of voting due to cold in Punjab-

Voting is being held for by-elections on 4 assembly seats in Punjab today. These seats include Barnala, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha seats. Voting has started here from 7 am. However, due to cold, voters are turning out less in the morning. This voting will continue till 6 pm.
