Washington: The US has imposed 50 percent tariff on India, which is affecting the relations of both countries. US President Donald Trump is surrounded by his own house due to the sourness in relations between India and America. Former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley warned Trump that the enemy -like behavior with India is not good. India is not our enemy.

Nikki Haley described India as its ally to compete with China in an article written in Newsweek and emphasized the need to consider a democratic partner. Warning Trump, Nikki said that breaking relations with New Delhi would be a “strategic disaster”. Breaking the pace in relations with India for the last 25 years can prove to be dangerous.

India’s cooperation is necessary to deal with China

Nikki Haley described a strong partnership between India and China as extremely easy and stressed that the rise of a democratic India is not a threat to the independent world “unlike communist-controlled China”. In his article, India said that India should be treated like a valuable independent and democratic partner. India is not opposed to China, which has been avoiding restrictions on oil purchases from Russia till now, while it is Moscow’s biggest customer.

The former US ambassador said that it would be a strategic disaster to prevent the growth in relations with the only country (India) to oppose Chinese dominance in Asia. He said that a partnership between the US and India should be an easy decision to compete with China. Nikki Haley reported that India has the ability to manufacture products on the same scale as China that can help the US take its important supply chains away from Beijing.

India is the world’s fastest growing major economy

In the newsweek article, Nikki Haley further said that India is the fastest growing major economy in the world and will soon overtake Japan. He said that India’s rise “is the biggest obstacle to China’s goal of” the global system a new look. He further said, “Simply put, as India’s power will increase, China’s ambitions will decrease.

Haley said that it would be a big and stopping mistake to convert the trade dispute between the US and India into a permanent rift. He also expressed concern over China taking advantage of this situation. He advised India to take the statement of US President Donald Trump seriously on Russian oil and resolve it with the White House.
