The Thailand army claimed that Cambodia attacked several areas after the midnight ceasefire was implemented while Cambodia said that there was no firing at any place.

The fight continues or not?

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thailand’s acting Prime Minister Phumtham Vachayachai agreed to ‘immediate and unconditional’ on Monday after a five -day struggle on the border of the two countries. Many people have died in this struggle and thousands of people have to be displaced. Meanwhile, it is not clear in the border areas whether the fight continues or not. However, in the meantime, peace has been seen in some places and many families have also been seen returning to their homes.

What spoke Thailand’s army

A Thailand Army spokesperson claimed that Thailand has stopped all military activities as per the consent on the ceasefire, but the soldiers of Cambodia continued the attacks, “After which our army had to retaliate to protect its defense.” Major General Vithai Lathomya said in a statement, “Such action is a deliberate violation of conflict and sorting out”

Cambodia denied

The Ministry of Defense of Cambodia has denied these claims of Thailand. Ministry spokesperson Mali Socheta said, “There has been no armed struggle on all advance fronts since the ceasefire was effective. This is a determination of the Cambodian leadership to implement the ceasefire. ”He said that the military commanders of both sides will hold their first meeting on Tuesday after the ceasefire is implemented under the agreement.

What did Malaysia and America say?

Earlier on Monday, the Malaysian Prime Minister said after the leaders of the two countries agreed to the ceasefire with Oak, “This is an important step towards reducing tension and restoration of peace and security.” America’s Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said that the US appreciates the declaration of ceasefire.

Struggle started like this

On Thursday, a struggle began on the border after five Thai soldiers were injured in a landmine explosion on the border last week. Both sides convicted each other for starting a clash, killing at least 35 people and displaced more than 2,60,000 people from both sides. Both countries called their ambassadors withdrawn, Thailand had also closed all border posts with Cambodia. (Language)
