Bogota: Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Colombia in the South American continent. Officials said that a 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Central Columbia on Sunday morning as per local time. As of now, no casualties have been reported. The epicenter of the earthquake was 17 km north-east from the city of Paratebuno, about 116 miles southeast of the capital Bogota. The American geological service reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km at 8:08 am local time (1308 GMT).

At the same time, the Colombian Geological Service also informed about additional shaking with intensity from 4 to 4.6, which were stopped and felt in the area. The National Unit of Disaster Risk Management said on X that it is assessing the situation in many municipalities. In the pictures posted on social media, people are shown feeling earthquake in Bogota. Some people went out of their workplaces in search of security. Footage received from rural areas suggests that there is no damage. Explain that Columbia is located in the Ring of Fire of the Pacific region, which is constantly known for seismic and volcanic activity.
