New Delhi: Delhi-NCR has received rains last night. During this time there are also storms and strong winds. Due to heavy rains, there has been waterlogging everywhere, due to which the roads are seen to be pond and the movement of vehicles on them is becoming difficult.

Noida and Greater Noida have also received heavy rains, due to which the roads have been flooded. On Sunday morning, it is also a cold weather and light drizzle is happening with cold winds.

Red alert issued

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert, which warns of strong thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 40-60 kmph. Many areas of Jhajjar in Haryana have also received heavy rains along with thunderstorms.

Earlier on Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Delhi and surrounding areas, warning of strong thunderstorms, rain and strong winds in the next two to three hours. This alert is part of the scoust warning depending on the current weather conditions.

Meteorological Appeal- Take necessary precautions

According to the IMD, a thunderstorm is coming from the west/north-west in Delhi and surrounding areas. Under its influence, in the next 1 to 2 hours, strong thunderstorms or dust activity as well as continuous lightning and strong winds (40–60 km/h or more speed) can affect parts of the city.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to take necessary precautions. The IMD has warned people not to escape from open places and not take shelter under trees. He has also asked citizens to avoid weak walls or unstable structures and stay away from water bodies.

Possible effects of the thunderstorms include trees uprooting and branches rupture. Crops such as bananas and papaya can cause moderate damage, and dry tree twigs may fall due to strong winds. Dusty thunderstorms can also run in some parts of the city.
