Study on sudden deaths after Kovid: ICMR claims- vaccine
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said in their study that sudden deaths due to heart attack in the country have no direct relation with the covid vaccine.
This study is based on the sudden death of people aged 18 to 45 years. The Ministry of Health released a press release on Wednesday and informed this. The study states that India’s covid vaccine is safe and effective. Cases of serious side effects from this are rare.
The study states that there may be other causes of sudden deaths. These include genetics, lifestyle, pre -existing disease and subsequent complications of Kovid.
Two covid vaccines developed in India. Bharat Biotech manufactured Kovaxin in collaboration with ICMR. At the same time, the Serum Institute of India created a covenant from the formula of British company Astrazheneka.
ICMR and NCDC study to find out the cause of death
ICMR and NCDC are working together to understand the cause of sudden deaths. Two research studies are being done for this. The first was based on the previous data and the second is associated with real time investigation.
First study- No risk of sudden death from Kovid vaccine
The National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) of ICMR studied 47 hospitals in 19 states and union territories from May 2023 to August 2023.
It saw the data of people who looked healthy, but suddenly died between October 2021 to March 2023. The results showed that the Kovid vaccine does not increase the risk of sudden death.
Second study- genetic mutation caused by most deaths
This is being done with the help of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and ICMR. Its purpose is to find out due to the sudden deaths of young adults. Initial data of the study showed that a heart attack or myocardial infarction (Mi) is the major cause of sudden death at this age.
The important thing is that there has been no major change in the pattern of the cause of sudden death in the last several years. The cause of most deaths is genetic mutation. This study is still going on. The end results will be shared on completion.
