After winning the IPL 2025, Rahul Dravid’s statement on the stampede in RCB’s Vijay Yatra has come out. Many people lost their lives in this tragic accident of Bengaluru, on which Dravid has expressed deep condolences. He described it as extremely unfortunate for sports lovers, but abstained from making direct accusations on someone.

In IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finally won the title after a long wait of 18 years. In the final played in Ahmedabad on June 3, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs and won the trophy for the first time. After this, there was an atmosphere of celebration in Bengaluru on June 4 and a grand victory procession was held for the team.

However, this celebration turned into mourning when there was a stampede among a huge crowd near M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In this accident, 11 people lost their lives and many people were injured.

In a conversation with NDTV, Rahul Dravid, a resident of Bangalore and currently Rajasthan Royals coach, expressed deep grief over the incident. He said, “This is very sad. Bengaluru is a sports -lovers. People here follow not only cricket, but also sports like football and kabaddi. In such a situation, such a tragedy is going to be very heartbreaking.”

Dravid further said, “Our condolences are with all those who lost their loved ones in this accident or who were injured. Such an incident should not have happened at all.”

However, Dravid refused to accuse anyone and said that it is more important to help the victims than finding guilty at this time. At the same time, an FIR has been registered against several employees of RCB franchise and event management company in this case and some have also been arrested.
