‘SUPERB’ from ‘Stupid’: Pant broke the silence on Gavaskar’s U-Tur praise, said- feeling is what is yours
When Rishabh Pant scored a century in the headingley test, Sunil Gavaskar’s on-air praise caught everyone’s attention. But surprise happened when Gavaskar, who called ‘Stupid’ a few months ago, was now calling Pant ‘Superb’. Pant himself has broken the silence on this U-turn and the answer he has given will bring a smile on the face of every cricket fan.
India’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is once again in discussion. After playing a brilliant 134 runs in the first Test against England, Pant has now expressed his opinion on the old statement of cricket veteran Sunil Gavaskar. In fact, a few months ago, during the Border-Gwaskar Trophy 2024-25, Sunil Gavaskar said on-air on Pant’s bad shots-“Stupid, Stupid, Stupid”. But after Pant’s century in the headingley test, the same Gavaskar was repeatedly saying-“Superb, Superb, Superb!”
On this interesting U-turn, when Cheteshwar Pujara asked Pant in the show of Sony Sports, Pant smiled and said, “The feeling is what is yours at this time.” Pujara himself was quite excited about this question. Pant further said, “It feels great when you work on your weaknesses and change Setbacks into a comeback. Yes, I have also made mistakes, but I trying to change them by working hard, focusing and bringing a little discipline and this was a lot of exciting for me.”

His 134 -run innings included 12 fours and 6 sixes. Even after hitting a century, Pant was not completely satisfied, his focus and big score. But then on a ball of Josh Tung, he was out LBW which he himself called a “brain fed moment”.
However, the biggest impact of this innings of Pant showed on the scoreboard. He shared a 209 -run partnership with captain Shubman Gill, due to which India could reach 471 runs in the first innings.
