Supreme Court said, not satisfied with Delhi government’s efforts on pollution, strictness should be taken for three more days
New Delhi. The Supreme Court reprimanded the Delhi government regarding pollution in Delhi and said that we are not satisfied with the efforts of the Delhi government. The government has also done nothing to stop the entry of trucks. Supreme Court asked why there are only 13 CCTVs at 113 entry points. The central government should deploy police at all these entry points.
The Supreme Court said that a legal team should be formed to see whether the entry of vehicles is actually being banned or not. For this, we will deploy young lawyers from the Bar Association. The bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih has expressed objection to the steps taken by the Delhi government to control pollution. Despite orders, Delhi Police failed to implement Stage 4 restrictions on time.
GRAP 4 restrictions should remain in place for at least 3 more days. The next hearing of the case will be on November 25. This case has been listed on the appeal of Amicus Curiae (Amicus Curiae) Senior Advocate Aparajita Singh. Who had demanded an immediate hearing in view of the current situation in Delhi. On November 14, Amicus Curiae had said that the Delhi government has not done anything for pollution and the situation is serious. Delhi should not become the most polluted city in the world. The case is also related to the management of pollution in Delhi-NCR, which has been filed by MC Mehta. In this, issues like pollution caused by vehicles, its management and stubble burning in NCR states have been kept.
