The dispute between Punjab and Haryana over water is increasing. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has heard a hearing on the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal dispute. During the hearing, the Supreme Court has directed the governments of the state of Punjab and Haryana to cooperate with the central government in resolving the state disputes. The central government has also put forward its stand on the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal dispute in the court.

What did the Center say in the Supreme Court?

The central government has told the Supreme Court that it has taken effective steps to resolve the issue of Sutlej-Yamuna link canal dispute in a cordial manner. The Center has told the Supreme Court that it has made efforts for mediation but the states will have to implement their point. At the same time, the Supreme Court has said that if there is no harmful solution to this issue, then the next hearing of the case will be held on 13 August.

Hearing will be held if the matter is not resolved

On Tuesday, a bench of Supreme Court Justice BR Gawai and Justice Augustine George Christ heard the entire case. The bench said- “We instruct both states to cooperate with the Union of India in reaching a cordial solution.” If the matter is not resolved by August 13, it will be heard on it. ”
