Damascus: A suicide attack case has come to light in Syria on Sunday. Here a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a church filled with people. The explosion in Daveela on the outskirts of Damascus was occurred when people were praying inside the Ellius Church. The UK -based war monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says that around 30 people have been injured in the attack, while many others have been killed. However, the number of injured and dead is still not clear. According to some local media reports, children are also included in casualties.
No group took responsibility
Syrian Information Minister Hamza Mustafa condemned the attack and called it a terrorist attack. “This cowardly act is against civil values that bring us together,” he said. As of now, no group has taken responsibility for this attack immediately. The Syrian Interior Ministry said that an extremist of the Islamic State Group entered the church, firing on the people present there and then wearing an explosive jacket, blown themselves, which matches the statements of some eyewitnesses.
