Tamil Nadu: Railway said on the Chittori passenger train accident- ‘No coach derailed’

A punishment train has been a victim of an accident in Chittori, Tamil Nadu. However, no passenger was injured in this accident. Southern Railway says that no coat has derailed in this incident. However, eyewitnesses say a very loud voice was heard. After this the loco pilot stopped the train. Due to this incident, there was chaos at Chittori railway station in Ranipet district on Saturday night. It is said that the train number 66057, Arconam-Katpadi Memu Passenger train’s loco pilot heard unusual voice and immediately stopped the train, which averted a possible accident.

Initially it was said that the train derailed, but the Southern Railway has made it clear that no coach of the train derailed. The incident took place on the Yard Road 1 loop line at Chiteri station. It was told by the railway that the repair work of this track was being done. In such a situation, it was not allowed to run the train at more than 20 kmph on this track. The incident occurred due to the passing of the train on this track.

No passenger injured

The damaged part of the track was clearly visible in the videos that came out of the incident after the train accident. According to the people in the train, a loud voice was heard shortly after the train left from Chiteri station. After this, the driver stopped the train. A senior police officer at the scene confirmed that there were no injuries or casualties.

There was already fracture in the track

According to the railway statement, the loco pilot was already aware of the track. In such a situation, he stopped the train as soon as he heard a loud voice. The incident occurred around 9.15 pm on Friday night. When the loco pilot investigated to find out the cause of the loud voice, he found the track broken at one place. Railways said that where the loco pilot found the track broken, there is a welding fracture. It had already been identified and precautionary it was corrected through Juggle fish plates. However, after this incident, the Railways will have to find a permanent solution.
