21 girls missing from the summer camp along the river
At the time of this flood, the ‘Mistic Summer Camp’, which was running along the Gwadalup river located in the Hunt area, included 27 girls, who are still missing. The rescue team is looking for missing girls and emergency services in the state are working with full readiness. This camp is held for children every year and such events have been continued for years, despite being in a flood -based area. Rescue operations are being carried out on a large scale, in which the help of helicopters, boats and drones is being taken.
850 people have been rescued so far
The relief team has so far been successful in evacuating more than 850 people. State Governor Greg Abbott said that relief and rescue operations are being run round the clock continuously. He also assured that there will be no shortage in any kind of help. However, there is resentment towards the administration among the local residents about this horrific tragedy. He says that no prior warning was given for an emergency like flood, which caused heavy loss of life and property.
