The Indian women’s cricket team’s opening batsman Prabhu Rawal (PRATIKA RAWAL) has been fined 10 percent of the match fee for violation of Level 1 of the ICC (ICC) code of conduct during the first ODI against England on Wednesday (July 16).
Rawal was found guilty of violation of Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for players and players allies, which relates to “an inappropriate physical contact with” any player, player colleague, umpire, match referee or any other person (including viewers during international match) “.
Due to this, a demerit point has been added to Rawal’s disciplinary records, this is his first crime in 24 months.
Rawal was accused of improper physical contact after two separate incidents that occurred within a short time. While taking a run during the 18th over of India’s innings, he had physically contact with bowler Lauren Filers, which could also be avoided. After this, when she was dismissed in the next over, she shoulders bowler Sophie Eklestone while returning to the pavilion.
At the same time, England team players have been fined 50 percent of the match fees for slow over rate. England was able to put one over less in the scheduled time, due to which the fine has been imposed.
