Team India gave tribute to those killed in Air India crash accident, SA-AUS players also tied black bandage and landed in the field

An Air India passenger aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad on 12 June. Within a minute of flying from Ahmedabad to London, the aircraft fell into a residential area due to which 241 people out of 242 people were killed and a man miraculously survived. This painful accident has shook the entire country and tributes are being paid to the victims from India and abroad.

In this episode, the Indian team, playing an intra-squad match in Bekenham, also paid tribute to the victims and before the match started, the players descended on the arm. After this incident, players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma also mourned the tragedy, while the players and associate staff kept a minute’s silence to remember the victims and wore black strips.

Not only this, players from Australia and South Africa also paid tribute to the victims of Air India accident in Ahmedabad before the beginning of the third day on Friday, June 13. Players of both teams wore black straps on the side. Apart from this, before the game started on Friday, the players and the audience present at the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground kept a minute’s silence to remember the victims.

The BCCI said in a statement, “Players in the intra-squad match and members of the associate staff are wearing black arm strips. A one minute silence has also been kept today to pay homage to the victims of Ahmedabad plane crash, which symbolizes respect for those killed and affected families to pay homage to the victims of Ahmedabad aircraft accident.
