Trai (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) on Thursday released data from Telecom Service Providers. Telecom Regulator TRAI reported that in the third quarter of FY 2024-25 (October-December 2024), the gross revenue of telecom companies was recorded at Rs 96,390 crore with a increase of 14.07 percent on an annual basis. Whereas Telecom Service Providers (TSP) recorded a gross revenue of Rs 84,500 crore in October-December 2023 a year ago.

Telecom companies’ AGR increased by 14.89 percent on an annual basis

According to the Indian Telecommunications Service Performance indicators for October-December 2024, the adjusted GDP of telecom companies increased by 14.89 percent to Rs 77,934 crore on an annual basis. Let us tell you that it was Rs 67,835 crore in the same period of a year ago.

Reliance Jio finished first in the list with AGR of Rs 28,542.76 crore

Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom company, finished first in this list with the highest AGR of Rs 28,542.76 crore. Bharti Airtel’s AGR growth stood at an annual basis 27.31 percent, which is almost doubled at the annual growth rate of 14.8 percent of its rival Reliance Jio. In the third quarter of FY 2024-25, Sunil Mittal’s telecom company Bharti Airtel registered an AGR of Rs 26,073.7 crore.

Apart from these, the AGR of telecom company Vodafone Idea, which is struggling with many types of crises, increased by 6.69 percent on an annual basis to Rs 7958.46 crore. On the other hand, the AGR of government telecom company BSNL increased by 13.95 percent to Rs 2,292.47 crore. During this period, the government’s license fee collection increased by 14.75 percent to Rs 6234 crore from telecom service providers, while the spectrum usage fee increased by about 17 percent to Rs 989 crore.
