Thailand Vl Mica Air Defense System: Thailand and Cambodia still remain in doubt about whether the struggle break between the two countries has been implemented or not. In this case of doubt, the Royal Thai Army is preparing to use French-built Vl MICA short-range air defense system for the first time. Thai army will try for the first time

VL MICA is a modern air defense missile system bought by the Thai Army in 2017 and began using it from 2019. This system is replacing the old and weak Spada 2000 system. It aims to protect Thailand’s army from air threats (such as drones, cruise missiles and fighter aircraft). This is the first time the Thai army will try it in military conflict.

What is Vl Mica Air Defense System?

VL MICA is a short -range missile defense system, developed by French company MBDA. This system is capable of identifying and killing air -coming hazards such as enemy fighter aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters, UAV (drone) in a very short time. The Vl Mica missile is launched vertically (straight above), giving it 360 degrees coverage. Its firepower ranges from about 20 to 40 kilometers, which makes it very effective in dealing with close hazards.

The VL MICA missile defense system is capable of identifying and chasing different types of targets. It comes in two variants. MICA RF (radio frequency) and Mica IR (Infrared seeker), this system can react in a few seconds, which matters a lot during the war. The Vl Mica can be deployed on the ground as well as the ground.

Cambodia attacks

Meanwhile, a Thai Army spokesperson claimed that Thailand has stopped all military activities as per the consent on the ceasefire, but the soldiers of Cambodia continued the attacks, “after which the Thailand’s army has had to retaliate to protect itself.” Major General Withi Lathomya said in a statement, “Such action reflects the conflict of the conflict and violated.”
