Gmail’s data of 2.5 billion or 250 million users of Gmail has been leaked online. Because of this, hackers have got personal information of crores of users. Hackers can use it by using it. Security experts believe that this is being called the biggest data leak in the Google database. The data has been breeted in the cloud platform of Gmail’s database managing the company salesforce. A hacker group named Shinyhunters has data of these crores of users, due to which the private data of users is in danger.

According to the report, this cyber attack in Selfourse’s cloud was done in June 2025. Taking the help of social engineering, the hacker group has done it. According to Google’s Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG), scammers implicated the IT staff in their nets through phone calls. The scammers, describing themselves as Google’s employee, carried out the data leak by connecting the fake app in the salesfors. Due to this data leak, attackers can have contact details of users, business names, related notes etc.
Although Google has confirmed that the password of any user has not been leaked, but hackers of many users’ stolen data are misused. Many online forums have claimed that they are receiving fishing emails. Also, fake calls, fraud messages are being sent to their number.
Cyber experts say that this data breech will not affect the password of users’ Gmail account directly. However, many of his important information has got the hands of hackers, using which they can hack users’ Gmail account. Especially com passwords such as ‘123456’ and ‘Password’ can access hackers.
How to avoid
- For this, users should check their Gmail account in the dark web or not.
- For this, go to the Google app and tap on the managed Google account.
- Then open the security tab below and scroll and go to Dark Web Report.
- Tap on Start Monitoring here and proceed. After confirming your selection, tap on the done.
- In this way you will be able to check whether your Gmail account is present in the dark web.
- If your Gmail account is present in the dark web, then change the password of your account and turn on a two-factor authentication.
