The case of Pahalgam attack reached the Supreme Court, know what are the demands of the petitioners
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court for judicial inquiry into the Pahalgam attack.
New Delhi: The case of terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir has now reached the Supreme Court. 26 people were killed in this attack, mostly tourists. A PIL (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court, demanding a judicial inquiry into the attack and better arrangements for the safety of tourists in Kashmir. The petition stated that the economy of many states of North India depends on tourism, and such attacks not only threatens the safety of tourists, but also damage the local economy. This petition will be heard in the Supreme Court today.
Appeal to instruct CRPF and NIA
The petition appeals to instruct the Central Government, Jammu and Kashmir Administration, CRPF and NIA to prepare a concrete action plan for the safety of citizens in tourist areas. Under this, measures such as monitoring, intelligence coordination and deployment of quick response teams have been suggested. It has also been demanded in the petition that armed forces should be deployed for the safety of tourists in hilly and sensitive areas. The petition has demanded the formation of a judicial commission under the chairmanship of a retired judge from the Supreme Court to investigate the Pahalgam attack.
Tension between India and Pakistan increased after the attack
Let us know that the responsibility of this attack in Basaron Valley of Pahalgam was initially taken by The Resistance Front (TRF), which is the pseudo form of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, the TRF later denied its own claim. The attack has further enhanced the tension between India and Pakistan, after which India took several diplomatic steps, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty and closing the attic border. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the NIA are investigating the attack, and a reward of Rs 60 lakh has also been declared on three suspected terrorists.
