Indian Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) The date of free online update to Aadhaar has been extended from June 14, 2025. With this step, people updating Aadhaar will get great stay. Those who want to update their Aadhaar for free, they can upload their documents for free and change them in Aadhaar. This step is expected to benefit millions of base holders across the country. Common people can take advantage of free service through Myadhaar portal.

Deadline increased by one year

UIDAI said in a social media post on X (which was previously known as Twitter): “UIDAI has increased free online documents upload facility till 14 June 2026 to benefit millions of Aadhaar number holders. This free service is available only on the Mayadhar portal. UIDAI is encouraging people to keep the documents updated in their base.”

Who should update your Aadhaar document?

UIDAI has urged the base holders, especially those who had obtained their Aadhaar more than 10 years ago and have not updated their documents since then to update their records in the Aadhaar database. It is also important for those whose name, address or other demographic details have changed.

How to update mobile number or biometrics?

To update your mobile number, email address, biometrics (fingerprint, iris) or photo, you have to go to the nearest base enrollment/update center and pay the applicable fee. The free document update service is available only through the MYADHAAR portal and will be free till June 14, 2026. After this deadline, regular fees may apply.
