New Delhi: The 1971 war hero and retired group of the Indian Air Force Captain DK Parulkar has passed away. He was known to get out of his captivity by dodging Pakistan. The Indian Air Force has given this information by posting on its X handle.

What did IAF say?

The Indian Air Force posted on its X handle and said, “Group Captain DK Parulkar (retired) VM, VSM, 1971 war hero, who bravely left from Pakistan’s captivity and showed the unique courage, cleverness and pride in the Indian Air Force.

Pakistan was given a mistake

In fact, during the 1971 war, Pakistan caught Group Captain Dilip Kamlakar (retired). During this time he was placed at the POW (Prisoneer of War) camp in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, where he met 2 more Indian Air Force companions. The names of these colleagues M.S. Garewal and Harish Singhji were. The three fighters planned to escape from Pakistan’s captivity and also succeeded in it.

Although it was not so easy to get out of Pakistan’s captivity, but these brave sons of Mother India built tunnels without weapons and they were engaged in digging the tunnel, avoiding the eyes of the guards and finally the day came when they got freedom from the tunnel.

DK Parulkar not only removed himself from Pakistan’s captivity but also helped his companions to flee. Group Captain DK Parulkar along with his companions Malvinder Singh Garewal and Harish Singh ji ran away from Rawalpindi’s warfare camp and dodged Pakistan. He has also been awarded him with a specific army medal.
