Famous veteran Bengali actress Basanti Chatterjee is no longer in this world. He breathed his last at his residence in Kolkata on Tuesday night. The news of the death of the actress is for the entire film industry. His family confirmed this news. It is being told that Basanti has said goodbye to this world at the age of 88. According to a spokesperson for the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum, Chatterjee was suffering from cancer for some time. He spent several months in the hospital’s ICCU, after which doctors advised him to keep him in nursing care at home.

Basanti Chatterjee acted in more than 100 films in her long career over five decades. His performances in the films like ‘Thhgini’, ‘Manjari Opera’ and ‘Alo’ are specially remembered. Along with this, she was also a well-known person of Bengali television. Her performances in popular serials like ‘Bhootu’, ‘Boron’ and ‘Durga Durgeshwari’ were highly appreciated by the audience. Her final screen appearance was in the serial ‘Geeta LLB’, during which her health suddenly deteriorated during filming. After this, the actress said goodbye to the show.

Actor Bhaswar expressed grief
Basanti Chatterjee started her career with the theater and participated in several stage performances in the early years. She was part of many famous theater shows and took acting from the stage to big screen and TV screen. Condoling his death, actor Bhaswar Chatterjee said, “He was having a lot of physical discomfort in recent times.” He further said that despite the deteriorating health and age, the glow of his art never faded.
The actor had asked for help from Mamata Banerjee

He had said that the actress has no money left for treatment, so she needs financial help. The popular actor of the small screen made this request through a post on Facebook. His post came out in January and now after 8 months, the actress has said goodbye to the world. Bhaswar was very close to Basanti.
