King of swing: On Friday evening, a news came in the cricket world, which made the eyes of every fan which was fascinated by the swing of the ball. The news of the sudden death of a veteran face of the cricket world came to light, which put the old fans in deep shock. From social media to the walls of the stadium, the same name is echoing everywhere – ‘King of Swing’.

The swing of the swing that we are talking about is former Mumbai fast bowler Abdul Ismail, who was known for his brilliant swing bowling in the 1970s, died of cardiac arrest on Friday.

He breathed his last at the age of 79. He played 75 first -class matches for Mumbai (then Bombay) and took 244 wickets, at an excellent average of 18.08. His performance helped Mumbai get five Ranji Trophy titles. The batsmen used to be afraid in their minds.

Created a special identity even while being unaccounted

Abdul Ismail, along with Karsan Ghavri and Eknath Solkar, created a strong trio of fast bowling, which was perfect support for Padmakar Shivalkar -led spin attack. However, despite his best performance, he never got a chance in Team India.

However, despite this, he is counted among India’s best uncapulated cricketers. His swing and continuity gave him recognition among the audience and the teammates as the Sartaj of Swing.

Sports have a deep connection with life

Earlier this year, Abdul Ismail was honored by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Wankhede Stadium. He was also a part of the first match (1975) played on this ground.

He started his career both with the Iranian Cup. Even after retirement, he did not break ties with cricket -he guided many youths as coaching and selector. After his death, the cricket world has lost a dedicated player and humble person.
