The entire team collapsed in Lord’s against England, but Jadeja remained alone and created special history, the first Indian all -rounder to do so
Ravindra Jadeja Record: On the last day of Lord’s Test against England, Ravindra Jadeja once again proved why he is considered the best all -rounder of Test cricket. When the entire team was collapsing, Jadeja remained alone and not only maintained the expectation of the team, but also made a special record in England by making a fourth consecutive fifty+ score.
On Monday, July 14, the last day of Lord’s Test was no less than a nightmare for the Indian team. Chasing the target of 194 runs, Team India had come out to play ahead of 58/4, but in the first hour the match started coming out of hand as Pant, Rahul and Sundar were out.
But Jadeja held one end throughout the day and did not lose courage. He scored an unbeaten 56, facing 162 balls. This was his 26th half -century of his Test career, which was full of courage and patience. With this innings, Jadeja also set a special record. He has become the third batsman to score four consecutive 50+ for India in England. Prior to this, this feat has been done by Rishabh Pant (5 times) and Sourav Ganguly (4 times). But Jadeja is also the first all -rounder of India to achieve this position.
India batsmen who scored 50+ consecutive+ consecutive+ in England:
- Rishabh Pant – 5 times (2021–25)
- Sourav Ganguly – 4 times (2002)
- Ravindra Jadeja – 4 times (2025)*
It is worth noting that earlier in the Birmingham Test, Jadeja’s bat had also spoken a lot, where he scored 89 and an unbeaten 69 runs. In the first innings of Lords, he scored 72 runs in 131 balls, making India match England’s score. When the wickets were falling in the second innings, Jadeja was the one who stood alone between England’s victory and India. The match may have lost India, but this battle of Jadeja was going to win heart.
