Rahul Dev Burman started his studies from Bengal. He composed the first song ‘Ae Meri Tap Palat Ke Aa’ at the age of just nine. The song was used by his father Sachin Dev Burman in the 1956 film ‘Funtush’. The special thing is that the tune of the song ‘Sir Jo Tera Chakrae or Dil Duba Jaay’ was also prepared by RD Burman in childhood, which his father used in 1957 in Gurudutt’s film ‘Pyaasa’. RD Burman got the first opportunity as a musician in 1959 from a director named Niranjan from the film ‘Raj’. However, the film could not be released for some reason. Famous comedian Mahmood wanted to get SD Burman as a musician in the 1961 film ‘Chhota Nawab’, but he touched it. After this, Mahmud’s eyes fell on Rahul, playing tabla next to him and he signed Rahul Dev Burman as a musician for this film. Pancham da also played a small role in ‘Bhoot Bangla’ released in 1965.

Talking about RD Burman’s personal life, in 1971, Pancham da divorced his first wife Rita Patel and married 1980 singer Asha Bhosle. RD Burman was 6 years younger than Asha.
