Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on plane crash accident

Air India Plane Crash: The first statement of the Government of India has come out on the horrific aircraft crash in Ahmedabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed deep grief over the incident. He said that many passengers have lost their lives in this accident, due to which the whole country is shocked and stands with the families of the deceased.

Governments engaged in rescue operations

Home Minister Shah said, “On behalf of the Prime Minister, from the Central Government and the Government of Gujarat, I express condolences to those who lost their lives in this incident” he also said that within just 10 minutes of the incident, he spoke to the Chief Minister, the State Home Minister and other officials. The central and state governments are engaged in rescue operations together.

Union Home Minister met living person

Amit Shah informed that 230 passengers (both Indian and foreign) and 12 crew members were aboard in this flight. He said that fortunately a passenger has survived and he has also met him. The incident is a major damage to the country and the rescue work continues on a war footing.

Aviation department started investigation

Amit Shah said, “The Department of Aviation has started its investigation and the Civil Aviation Minister has instructed the officials to ensure that the investigation moves fast. I once again thank the people involved in the rescue operation. Also, I once again pay homage to the families of those who have lost their loved ones.”

DNA samples of family members

The Union Home Minister said, “I have visited the accident site. The bodies of passengers have been recovered from the accident site. Also, the DNA samples of the passengers are being collected and this process will be completed in the next 2-3 hours. Family members of foreigners have also been contacted. Once they (in India), they will also have about 1,000 DNA samples. Only 1,000 DNA samples will be collected. I have the ability to do all these tests. “
