Bihar’s great folk singer Sharda Sinha was given an emotional farewell by her fans and family members from Patna today. People had tears in their eyes and memories in their hearts during his last journey that started from his residence in Rajendra Nagar. Her son Anshuman shouldered the mother’s bier and became a part of this last journey. There are plans to perform the last rites at Gulbi Ghat.
Former BJP MP Ramkripal Yadav also came to pay his last respects to Sharda Sinha and said that her art and sadhana will always live as a cultural heritage of our society. Along with him, many fans and well-wishers also participated, who remembered the contribution of Sharda ji and paid tribute to her.
Sharda Sinha gave a new identity to folk music not only in Bihar but throughout India with her melodious songs. The fragrance of Bihar’s culture and folk tradition was reflected in the songs sung by him, which will continue to resonate in the hearts of people even in his absence.
