Mumbai/New Delhi, 31 October (HIST). Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the pace of economic growth of the country remains strong. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures in the second quarter will surprise everyone.

The RBI Governor said this at a program here on Tuesday. Shaktikanta Das said that inflation is the first priority of RBI at this time. He said that the attrition rate of employees is very high in some private sector banks. The Reserve Bank is keeping a close eye on this issue.

He said that RBI estimates that the real GDP growth rate in the second quarter of the current financial year 2023-24 will be 6.4 percent. Das said geopolitical uncertainties are the biggest risk to global growth at the moment, but compared to other countries, India is in a better position to handle it.
