His father committed suicide in the forest due to his son not being able to arrange for admission to engineering college in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. The person was identified as VT Shijo (47) and was found hanging in the Moongampara forest on Sunday evening. His son got admission in an engineering college in Tamil Nadu, but the family was unable to pay fees for this. In such a situation, he considered death appropriate to embrace death and hanged it in the forest.

The family was waiting for the outstanding salary for 12 years

Relatives said that Shijo was facing a lot of financial crisis. His wife used to work as a teacher in aided school, whose appointment was approved by the court earlier this year. Shijo was expecting his wife’s 12 -year outstanding salary. His wife started getting salary from February this year, but was reportedly being delayed by the District Education Officer (DEO) office officials for the last 12 years.

What did the police say?

Police believe that the incident occurred due to the financial crisis of the family and inability to raise money for admission to the college. He said that after the post -mortem, his body has been handed over to the family. (With language inputs)
