Kozhikode: In a shocking incident in Kozhikode, Kerala, a 64 -year -old woman was pushed down from a moving train and was robbed. According to the railway police, the incident occurred at around 5 am on Friday morning when the Sampark Kranti Express left from Kozhikode railway station at a slow pace. The robber snatched more than Rs 8000 cash and mobile phone of the woman. It is being told that the woman was going from Panvel in Maharashtra to Thrissur in Kerala with her brother.
How did this incident happen?
According to reports, the woman was standing near the door of the train and waiting for her brother, who went to the toilet. Then an unknown person suddenly tried to snatch his purse. The woman protested and caught the robber’s shirt. Angry, the robber pushed her, causing her to fall on the tracks below the train. After this, the robber also jumped from the train and ran away after snatching the woman’s purse.
The woman heard the incident
Talking to a TV channel, the woman said, ‘That person suddenly came and started snatching my purse. I did not leave the purse and grabbed his shirt while he was trying to jump. Then he pushed me, and I fell on the tracks backwards. Where I fell, another train was coming from there. The people in my train shouted and asked me to move. I was soaked in blood, but somehow got up and got removed from the track. I was very scared. ‘ The woman suffered a deep injury behind her head.
What did the railway police say?
The woman said that the passengers of the Sampark Kranti Express pulled the chain and stopped the train. He was then immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, from where he was referred to Kozhikode Medical College due to deep wounds. He was discharged after treatment. Railway police said the attacker was probably from outside Kerala. The police have formed a special team to identify and catch the robbers. He said that the matter is being investigated fast. (PTI)
