‘There are some leaders in the opposition who speak better than Rahul Gandhi and they do not want this’: PM

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attacked Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi fiercely. Taking a sarcasm at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that many leaders of the opposition are talented and good speakers, but Rahul Gandhi does not get a chance to speak. The PM informally said that the Congress party disruptions because there are some leaders in the opposition who speak better than Rahul Gandhi and they do not want so.
Better speaker than Rahul Gandhi in opposition: PM
The Prime Minister made this comment during a tea party, in which no opposition MP participated and it was limited to NDA leaders. During the tea party, Prime Minister Modi further said that the opposition MPs are forced to disrupt the proceedings of Parliament as they are a better speaker than Rahul Gandhi, but the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha does not want to encourage him. The proceedings of Parliament by opposition MPs have been regularly disrupted.
Rahul Gandhi did not reach the speaker’s tea party
Speaker Om Birla gave a tea party after the Lok Sabha was adjourned indefinitely. Leaders of NDA, including PM Modi and Union Ministers, arrived at the T party but not a single opposition MP including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi attended it.
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned indefinitely
Explain that the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned indefinitely on Thursday. The Lok Sabha Speaker expressed disappointment to the opposition parties for maintaining a deadlock in the proceedings in the monsoon session, saying that the employed manner created disruption in the functioning of the House which is not in accordance with democracy and dignity of the House. The fifth session of the eighteenth Lok Sabha started on 21 July in which 14 government bills were introduced and 12 bills were passed.
These include the Goa Bill 2025, Merchant Shipping Bill 2025, Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Manipur Appropriation (No. 2) Bill 2025, National Sports Administration Bill 2025, National Sports Administration Bill 2025 and National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill 2025. Apart from these, the Income Tax Bill 2025, Taxation Act (Amendment) Bill 2025, Indian Port Bill 2025, Mineral and Mineral Development (Regulation and Amendment) Bill 2025, Indian Institute of Management (Amendment) Bill 2025 and Online Sports Promotion and Regulation Bill, 2025 were also passed in the Lok Sabha.
