Iranian newspaper Etemad quoted an official of Ilam city as saying that “legal action would be taken against those who violate”. The news of Iran’s official newspaper said that the aim of newly taken steps is to maintain public arrangements, ensure security and protect public health. Mozaffar Regai, an officer in the North Western Iran’s Ardbeil province, said that people would have to bear the consequences if they were seen walking dogs in parks, public places or taking them on their vehicles.
