Moscow: A 6.8 magnitude earthquake was felt once again on Sunday on the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka. This shock is part of the series of earthquakes that have been continuously coming to the region since Wednesday, due to which tsunami waves arose in many countries. It also includes Eastern Indonesia.
Meteorological Climate Science and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has described its 6.8. “There is no threat to a tsunami in Indonesia,” BMKG earthquake and director of the tsunami center Daryono said in a statement after the earthquake. He urged the people of coastal areas to maintain peace. He said, “No report has been reported to be damaged due to earthquake so far.”
Megathrust earthquake
This series of shocks that came here on Sunday are also similar to the shallow earthquake caused by the subduction process of the Kuril-Kumchatka trench. It is also called megathrous earthquake, which is from the subdued activity of continental plates. According to BMKG, a total of 426 shocks have come after the 8.7 magnitude earthquake, the largest intensity of 6.9 and the smallest 4.0. Daryono said in another statement that megathrust earthquake raises the sea level and seawater and produces a tsunami, which spreads in all directions. The flow of sea water that reaches the ground is called a tsunami.
