The claim of US President Donald Trump’s tariff has been rejected outright by India. India clearly stated clearly that the issue of tariff was not part of the discussion in a conversation with the US for the ceasefire with Pakistan this month. India denied that there was any discussion on trade with the US in the discussions between the two countries after India started operation vermilion on terrorist camps in Pakistan and POK.
Ministry of External Affairs stopped speaking
Addressing the press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “Let me tell you about the situation clarified on 13 May. Since the operation started on 7 May, no discussion of any of these discussions came out in any of these discussions. Jaiswal further reiterated that the ceasefire appeal came from Islamabad, especially by the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan, who had approached his counterpart in Delhi. There was no American intervention during Operation Sindoor.
Trump administration made false claim
The comment from the Ministry of External Affairs has come to light at a time when the Donald Trump administration told a federal court in the US that the threat of tariff helped the US to ceasefire after a 3-day fight between India and Pakistan.
Explain that India-Pakistan agreed to stop military action on 10 May. Trump then claimed that he ceased and stopped the possible nuclear war. Later, India’s Foreign Ministry denied his claim and stated that the military ceasefire was the result of DGMO-level talks between the two countries. Today, once the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement in its weekly briefing and made it clear that there was no talk between the ceasefire on any business issue.
