Tiktok

Pakistan banned this short video sharing platform of the Chinese company bytedance a few years ago. The government banned this app due to objectionable content. However, the people there use this app through VPN. The government of Pakistan had first banned this app several times on this app. Later it has been decided to ban it completely.

Telegram

Instant messaging app Telegram was also banned in Pakistan. This app was banned because the government suspected that through this, extremist groups spread fake news. On banning this app, the business community, journalist and activist had strongly opposed.

Whatsapp Voip Service

The neighboring country had banned the Vatsapp’s voice -over internet protocol service. After this ban, the instant messaging apps of the meta in Pakistan could not be used for calling. However, a few days later the government removed the ban on it.

Bigo Live

Chinese video calling app Bigo Live has also been banned in neighboring country. This app was also banned due to objectionable content. Apart from this, the app was banned in view of national security and culture value there.

X

Alan Musk’s instant messaging platform X has also had to be banned in Pakistan. The app was banned during the general election in Pakistan last year.
