Childhood struggle
Ashok Pathak was born in Siwan district of Bihar. However, his childhood did not pass there, because he moved to Faridabad in search of work with his parents. Ashok had to work at a very young age due to financial constraints. While studying in the ninth grade, he used to sell cotton on a bicycle with his uncle and earn from 100 to 150 rupees daily so that the expenses of the house could be run.

The path of education and theater
Although economic conditions were difficult, Ashok did not give up studies. He completed his studies till 12th and then enrolled in Bharatendu Natya Academy. Here he also received scholarship, which laid the foundation of his acting career. Then he came to Delhi and started preparing for engineering initially, but due to lack of mind in studies, he turned to the theater. His brother inspired him in this direction and then the real journey of acting began.
Knock on the big screen
Ashok got the first big opportunity in Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Highway’, which was the first film of his career. After this, he did not look back. He got an opportunity to work in projects like ‘Fukrey Returns’, ‘Khandani Shafkhana’ and Netflix’s hit series ‘Sacred Games’. Although he acted in many films, ‘Panchayat’ gave him recognition from house to house. The funny thing is that he refused to work first in this series. In an interview, he told that he was considering this role as very small, but on the repeated request of the director, he did it and the same character made him a star.
