BenQ India has launched a premium home cinema projector with 4K UHD clarity, exceptional color accuracy with support for 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and Blue Core Laser light technology. The projector costs Rs. 6.60 lakhs and is available at select Home AV System Integrators across the country. That said, here’s everything we know about the new device, including its maximum brightness, the lifespan of the main projection technology, and other features.
BenQ W5800 Lifespan
At its core, the BenQ W5800 features Blue Core Laser technology, which helps the device project accurate, high-resolution images with the right amount of white color and brightness. The projector lamp is rated to last up to 20,000 hours. Further, the company also provides a warranty of three years on the projector and three years or 15,000 hours on the laser light source, which should help increase buyers’ confidence in the product.
BenQ W5800 Specifications And Features
Regarding the maximum resolution, the BenQ W5800 provides a 4K UHD resolution for up to 200-inch projections, which is pretty good for a home projector. In regular mode, the device offers 2600 ANSI Lumens of brightness. However, in Cinema Mode, which supports a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, the brightness drops to 1700 ANSI Lumens. There’s a Filmmaker Mode that allows viewers to watch movies the way the director intended them, without any local processing or enhancements.
To further elevate the home cinema experience, the projector also features HDR-Pro technology that improves the 4K HDR image quality with two-step enhanced tone mapping, reproducing more balance between the bright and darker parts of the scenes. The HDR-Pro technology relies on a Local Contrast Enhancer algorithm that divides the image into 1,000+ zones for analyzing and applying gamma individually for the zones. The projector also supports HDR10+.
BenQ W5800 Connectivity
To tune the video as per their preference, users also get 11 levels of white balance controls between low and high brightness. Regarding connectivity, the projector features two HDMI 2.0b ports, two USB Type-A ports, SPDIF, and eARC that allow 7.1 channel sound. There’s support for Dolby Atmos as well. The variety of input/output ports allows the projector to connect with various devices, including Blu-ray players, streaming boxes, gaming consoles, amplifiers, soundbars, and USB drivers.
To project a 200-inch screen, users must place the projector about 6.7 to 10.8m from the screen. It features a 1.6x optical motor that enables adjustment of the projector’s throw ratio for flexible screen placement. Further, 2D lens shift helps provide perfectly straight-edged images without any loss in resolution. That is everything we know about the new BenQ W5800 home cinema projector.
